Sommerer Hired as Vice President for Arizona Health Sciences Development

On July 1, 2009, the University of Arizona Foundation hired classmate Shaun O. Sommerer as Vice President for Arizona Health Sciences development.  Sommerer will be responsible for directing and facilitating efforts to build relationships and raise funds from private sources to support the priorities of health sciences programs at UA.  Sommerer previously served as the associate vice president of development at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he had the responsibility of overseeing the UNLV Division of Health Sciences Development.

What is a Class Committee?

Class Committee members are volunteers from each class who gather to enjoy the kind of camaraderie that only Johnnies can share. They work together to connect other classmates to Saint John’s and to each other. 

So How Can I Get Involved?

If you’d like to be involved with our class committee, please contact Thom Woodward, 320.363.7303. Over the coming year, our class will be working on supporting the Four Cornerstones of the Alumni Association:

1.     Student Recruitment: Asking classmates to refer potential students to the CSB/SJU Admission Office. (To do this, please visit the Online Referral Page.)

2.     Student Preparation: Preparing current Johnnies for life after graduation through job placement, internships, and mentoring.

3.     Alumni Connections: Enriching the lives of our 20,000 alumni and engaging them in support of the Saint John's community, as well as reconnecting them in the online community or at SJU events.

4.     Resource Development: Addressing the financial needs of the SJU community by supporting the Annual Fund or Capital Campaign.
