About the Association
The Alumni Association was founded in 1882 by Rev. Joseph Cotter, Class of 1870. Since then, members have kept in touch with each other and Saint John’s through Homecoming, reunions, hundreds of Johnnie Standups, class letters, the Saint John’s Magazine and an alumni directory (currently online in the form of JohnniesConnect).
Today the Association is over 22,000 strong, with members in every state and 61 countries. In 2007-2008, alumni held events from St. Cloud to Hong Kong to the Bahamas.
The Association supports the University through four cornerstones of service:
Alumni Connections
Mobilizing and engaging the alumni community through class committees, chapters, events, awards and communications.
Student Recruitment
Supporting the Admissions Office in recruiting the next generation of Johnnies and Bennies.
Student Preparation
Mentoring current students as well as supporting internships and career explorations. Helping students prepare for life after graduation.
Resource Development
Supporting the annual fund through annual class giving.
